Dance Steps Staff

Donna Bayley
Director

began her training in London continuing at RWB Professional Programme, dancing with the Company in The Nutcracker and Les Sylphides. For over 25 years Donna has directed and produced full length dance productions including Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast as well as the acclaimed Nutcracker. Donna is a Supervisor of the RAD Teacher Training. Recently Donna has paired with the YMCA to offer dance to the London community.

Krista Conti
Teacher

Krista has been actively involved with Dance Steps since 1989, when it first opened. She has choreographed for all Dance Steps productions including The Nutcracker and entered numerous dances in competitions. She is a fully registered member of The Royal Academy of Dance as well as a member with the CDTA and Associate Member with the BATD.

Megan Gregor
Teacher

Megan has been dancing at Dance Steps for over 10 years, training in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical and musical theatre. She recently graduated from the University of Western Ontario studying Health Sciences, where she was also involved in dance. Megan is so excited to be a part of the dance steps team this year!

Shannon Maguire
Teacher

Shannon has been dancing at Dance Steps since she was 4 years old. She was a part of the 2010 Canadian Tap Team and in 2011 Shannon moved to California to join the Young Americans. She spent two years training, performing and teaching with the Young Americans across the UK, South Africa, and Germany. Shannon was a dancer for the NBL Mississauga Power and performed at the 2015 Pan Am Games. Shannon is now at Fanshawe College studying Child and Youth Work.

Thalia Kotsovos
Teacher

Thalia has been dancing at Dance steps since the age of 4, she is trained in Ballet, Jazz, lyrical, modern and musical theatre. Thalia started competing at the age of 9 and is still competing with Inmotion: a team comprised of university students. She is currently attending Western University to study sociology and dance. Thalia is looking forward to being part of the Dance Steps faculty and sharing her love of dance to the students at Dance steps.

Ruth Douthwright
Modern Teacher

Ruth Douthwright is a Dance Artist and Certified Movement Educator. Graduate of École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, Certified teacher of The Axis Syllabus, and continued education at Laban UK, Kyoto Arts Centre, Japan. Currently Ruth is a London Artist in Residence through the London Arts Council with ongoing programs at Museum London and Public and Separate School Boards

Wendy Laskey
Teacher

Wendy has been dancing at Dance Steps since the age of 6. She is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and modern. Wendy is currently attending UWO to study Kinesiology.

Kim Lightheart
Teacher

Ms. Kim was trained for 8 years at the National Ballet School in Toronto and danced for the National Ballet of Canada for 12 years.  Kim danced all of the major classical roles with that Company as Principal Dancer.  Kim's repertoire includes: "Romeo and Juliet", "Giselle", "The Nutcracker", "The Sleeping Beauty".  Kim is looking to give back to the community her knowledge to young aspiring dancers.

Talia van Everdingen
Teacher

Talia is so excited to be returning to Dance Steps for her third year! She competed for 12 years in all facets of dance and trained in gymnastics, which fuelled her love and specialty for Acro. Talia has performed in Walt Disney World and is a captain of the student run competitive dance team “This is London Dance Company” at Western University where she is currently studying business.

Lindsay McGhie
Teacher

Lindsay has been dancing at Dance Steps since the age of 4. She is trained in Royal Academy of Dance ballet technique, completing her Advanced II exam with a mark of distinction. Lindsay choreographs for Dance Steps Company.

Hayley Blyth
Teacher

Since the age of four, Hayley has trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. She attained her RAD Advanced One Ballet Certification. Hayley attended Sheridan College receiving an Advanced Diploma in Music Theatre Performance and spent three years performing on Carnival Cruise Lines. Hayley is absolutely thrilled to follow her passion for dance and performance and is very excited to share her knowledge with her students.

Fiona McLean
Adult Ballet Teacher

Fiona originally trained under Dorothy Cox-Scruton in London ON from the age of 3 completing her RAD exams by the age of 17. After a successful international career in film and visual effects Fiona focused her attention on the tactile processes of jewellery and silversmithing founding An Teallach in 2014. Fiona has trained in classical ballet extensively and internationally. She is very excited to share her experience with the Dance Steps community.
